Ford Dealer Giving Lessons About MyFord Touch

Ford dealers have starting to realize that some of their buyers might not be comfortable with the virtual switchgeare of MyFord Touch. But that’s seems going to an end. At least there is one dealer in Michigan is offering a free tutorial about how to use the touchscreen controls.

Village Ford in Dearborn also admits that while some of their younger buyers are a lot more comfortable with the new system, the less tech savvy customers need to come back again. And after the Consumer Reports pulled its Recommended rating for the Lincoln MKX and Ford Edge due to the ease of use issues with MyFord or MyLincoln Touch, some users feel a little doubt that Ford and their dealers want to proactively assuage concerns and get their users to be more comfortable with the controls.

Jim Seavitt, the owner of the dealership tells the Detroit Free Press that one issue is about the lack of choice. If someone buys their new vehicle with SYNC, they can choose if they don’t want to use it. But if they are option up to buy a higher spec Edge, it means that they have to use the MyFord Touch, according to Seavitt.

Infiniti Anchoring Line Up With Entry Level and Halo Models

However, this is not the case for Infiniti. This Nisan’s luxury division is reportedly appear at going both up and down market with some of their new products to give it a much further reach than the current range.

The first up is halo model. Infiniti has reportedly come to the conclueion that to lure buyers into the showrooms, they need some attractive high end product. While the successor of the Q45 sedan was seen as a potential route, a report said that a sportcar would be the way to go. The show-stopping Essence concept prove the notion, but Infiniti is reportedly still mulling the idea.

In the other end, Infiniti has been considering the idea of an entry level hatchback model to compete with Audi A3, BMW 1 Series, and Volvo C30. Lexus became the first japanese luxury brand to pursue the segment with their CT 200h, and Infiniti is pretty serious to get a younger demographic.

2010 Spyker C8 Aileron Spyder Will Only 99 Units?

2010 Spyker C8 Aileron Spyder

It’s quite some times since we’ve heard something from Spyker that didn’t have anything to do with their acquisition of Saab. This Dutch automaker seems like they have missed thier production targets, like the new C8 Aileron syder. The convertible version of this stretched and updated C8 was debuted about a year and half ago in Pebble Beach, and was supposed to enter the production in early 2010. Well now 2010 has gone, but the production still hasn’t started.

According to some reports from the company’s native Netherlands, Spyker is planning to keeping the C8 Aileron Spyder to be very exclusive, with only producing 99 units. That will be a very limited edition. But there is something more. According to the same report from CEO Victor Muller, Spyker will be ditching the Audi 4.2 liter V8 engine for the 6.2 liter supercharged LS9 from Chevrolet Corvette ZR1.

At 638 hp, LS9 produces over 50% more power than 400 hp from Audi, and it drop in the previously 4.5 second sprint to 60 should be worth the work involved in turning the blown eight around and mounting it in the Spyker’s core. Either that, or this will amount to nothing.
